Having suffered back and shouder issues for years I decided to really invest in my future heath. I had the good fortune to meet Sharon with the objective of loosening my back, making it stronger, improving my posture and general skeletal wellbeing. Sharon has been my Pilates teacher for 5 years and there is a real difference. In fact, my osteopath who I see less has continually commented on the improvement. Classes are held in a spotless studio with a wide range of equipment. I have one to one sessions once a week. Classes are extremely professional, challenging and tailored to meet my needs. Missed classes are kept to a minimum whereas were I doing a group class I may have been tempted sometimes to cancel. (2018)
Now that I'm in my late sixties, my goal is to look after my physical health; to improve my body's strength, flexibility and muscle tone. Since starting Pilates sessions with Sharon, I've noticed a real difference in my body. Minor backaches, shoulder pain and other niggles have virtually gone and I'm feeling the positive effects each time. I was a complete beginner to Pilates (and to exercise)! Now I cannot imagine my life without it. Sharon always adapts the class depending how my body is on that particular day and I use all of the studio equipment including the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Tower, Wunda Chair and Ladder Barrel. Pilates has also helped me to manage my mental health - I leave each class with a spring in my step! I'm stronger both physically and mentally due to my one to one classes with Sharon. (2017)
At eighty years of age I thought I had to accept slowing down. However, since starting my one to one classes with Sharon I can now get out of the car and walk upstairs more easily. I feel so much better - thanks to Sharon. (2019)
Sharon offers a very personalised experience, totally focusing on particular needs. I have been going to her for two years and started as a complete beginner to Pilates. Now I am physically much stronger and also much more alert mentally - there's a lot to concentrate on and Sharon guides you carefully through the different exercises. I look forward to our weekly sessions together, where she encourages a good understanding of the Pilates method, whilst incorprating a lot of laughter! I can highly recommend PILATESJOY in Gerrards Cross to improve your strength and flexibility. When I first started Pilates with Sharon I had reduced function in my left leg and foot due to a slipped disc. Sharon has been able to give me specific exercises that have significantly improved my condition She has encouraged me to work hard (and enjoy the exercises) and given me the belief as I've experienced so far that I can continue to improve over time.
